This link will be useful if you want to find the direct distance between two point, or you may want to draw a circle around a single point.

Calculating the distance between two points. I use google maps to find the Lat. & Lon.
After that the GPS Visualizer can draw a map of a line between London and Paris(Chosen cities), and you can also see the elevation profile between the two points. In this example the red line shows the English Channel.
Drawing a Ring around a Point, in this example I decided to draw a ring with a range of 2000km around the German city of Berlin. The result is the following
